A checkerboard cutting board made from North American wood is available in Cherry & Maple and Walnut & Maple. This is an end-grain cutting board, which will handle rough chopping, and patinate beautifully over time.
The board is about 12" in diameter and about 1.25" thick. A great size for smaller counters, or as a cheese board. This version has a cove profile on one side, for easy lifting.
Please allow 1 week for fulfillment, as edges are finished to order. If the product is sold out, pre-orders are available. Allow 2-3 weeks for pre-order fulfillment.
Care
End-grain cutting boards are made from natural materials. They need just a bit of care and attention to keep in great working condition.
When washing your board, rise both sides and set on a flat surface to dry.
If the board is looking chalky or feeling rough, add some General Term cutting board oil - included with your order - to help refresh the wood. If you run out of the cutting board oil, you can purchase more here (hyperlink?).
Please do not use the cutting board as a trivet, and do not put into the dishwasher - it won’t survive the experience :(
